Madina Kulira (8 years old), John Mbawali (7 years old), Daniel Omuloni (4 years old) and Dauda Kilimuta (3 years old), are four orphaned brothers that hail from Uganda – a delightful nation in East Africa populated by its inside out beautiful people!
In spite of Kampala being one of the gorgeous cities in Africa, the poor brothers unfortunately inhabit one of its least desirable places! They live in heart breaking conditions, in a gut wrenching slum.
Were it not for a very sweet & loving neighbor, they would be all alone in their miserable world. In spite of her (the God-sent neighbor) being poverty-stricken and residing in the same shanty as the foursome, she so graciously and magnanimously looks out for them as best as she can. Whenever she is fortunate enough to procure some food, she unselfishly cooks it and shares it all with them!
Despite her heart of gold and benevolence towards the needy brothers, she cannot do much to change their sorry situation!
The boys need almost everything, we are talking about; food, clothes, shoes, education, better shelter….
Sadly, the poor souls don’t have much else to do except; eat (whenever they stumble upon food- thanks to their indigent but giving neighbor), play in their rough and tough stomping grounds and sleep in their desolate shack of a home.
Hopes and dreams of a better life seem so ethereal, far fetched, or simply illusions or luxuries they cannot afford, so they just live moment by moment, not knowing what tomorrow may bring.
Through Sarah, a very lovely and sweet college student from a distinguished Kampala university & our boots on the ground , we at Eddie Chess Foundation stumbled upon the necessitous boys and decided to apply the Law of Reciprocity towards them by, “Treating them as we would wish them to treat us”.
We bought them; Groceries, Clothes, Mattresses, Blankets, Bed sheets and even gave them some cash to lace their empty pockets.
We obviously intend to do more as funding keeps manifesting unto us.
We obviously intend to do more as funding keeps manifesting unto us.
The bit we have done, seems to have made quite a difference in their young but embattled lives. They seem so happy and rejuvenated as compared to when we first encountered them!
True to their beautiful souls, they have expressed so much heartfelt gratitude towards us.
That has compelled us to do more for them and others in similar or “God-forbid”… worse situations.
We hope and pray to be conjoined with loving and altruistic folk who in turn will help us further our cause. Thanks in advance and Stay Blessed kindred!
